Complex Information System for General Health Insurance (KIS VšZP)

In 2005, employees of Novitech a.s. continued the development and supply of subsystems for KIS VšZP. Within the subsystem of the Management Information System (MIS), the MIS II subsystem solution to reflect the latest requirements of the MIS. During 2005 the analysis was completed and accepted while a software system was developed containing the following

  • Export functionality of production systems,
  • Data warehouse (DWH),
  • OLAP,
  • Output summaries.

Users have been trained and the system achieved operational status in two stages. During the first stage the following areas were addressed : Income-Collection of insurance premium, Registration of Payers, Claim of insurance premium check. The second stage focused on: Registration of Policy Holders and insurance policy, Approval and Reimbursement of healthcare provider services, Contract approval and registration of beneficiaries.

In 2005 the following Administration Information System (ADMIS) subsystem modules were developed, completed and accepted successfully:

  • Production workflow systems,
  • Central administration of users,
  • Internal ADMIS portal,
  • Document management,
  • File registry,
  • Support of legal activities,
  • Electronic filing room.

During the second half of 2005 operational production of the KIS VšZP system was initiated with the incremental introduction of routine operation modules. On 28.10.2005 the following additional modules entered the stage of „Introduction to routine operation“: ADMIS portal, central user administration, Document management, File registry, and Electronic filing room.

During 2005 the contracting terms and conditions were created for the delivery and implementation of the Enterprise Management System (EMS). Within the system analysis, design and implementation processes, the solutions for backup, monitoring, and helpdesk for VšZP were developed. Upon acceptance of the project deliverables, the software products were installed and a pilot run was launched, focused on the performance of the backup module.

The alteration of the VšZP legal status to a public limited company resulted in many changes to the organisational structure and production processes of VšZP which verified and proved the flexibility of the delivered solutions.
